Artist Biography: Born in the splendor and beauty of the Northwest, Marilynn Dwyer Mason began drawing at an early age as a commercial artist, illustrator and portrait artist. Marilynn has built a successful professional career in all three fields. She is proficient in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil and pen & ink. Marilynn's work has been exhibited throughout the United States and is represented in many private collections and galleries. Influenced by the work of Philip Goodwin, John Singer Sargent and Oliver Kemp, her paintings of outdoor adventures depict the nostalgia of the first half of the twentieth century. Painting from her own vivid imagination, Marilynn creates an atmosphere that colorfully captures the beauty of the American West and rich sporting heritage. A number of Marilynn's paintings are available as limited edition Gicle prints including a recent series of paintings known as the "Tahoe Series". All four canvases were painted at Lake Tahoe and depict bears engaged in various activities. Marilynn's work is available exclusively at Tippy Canoe in Tahoe City and Truckee, California and in Durango, Colorado. This painting includes a custom birch bark and willow frame.
